Small peptides regulate the cellular coordination of growth, development, and stress tolerance in plants. In addition to direct antimicrobial activities, small secreted peptides have emerged as key signaling molecules in the plant immune response. In this review, now published in  Current Opinion in Plant Biology, Cecile Segonzac and I highlight how small peptides amplify and fine-tune immune signaling.

Cecile Segonzac and I became friends during our postdoctoral work at The Sainsbury Lab several years ago and now each run our own research groups.

We thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to work together again and hope you enjoy reading this short review.
